Autopoiesis

"Autopoiesis" consists of a small mirror with an embedded computerized surveillance camera running face-recognition algorithms. When people look at themselves in this mirror they see the word "Autopoiesis" projected on their forehead. A tiny laser projector matches the position, scale and rotation of the forehead so that it can become a screen.

The concept of self-creation described by Chilean biologists Humberto Maturana and Francisco Varela is an inspiration for all art that depends on participation to exist.
